M/J Intensive Mathematics (Grade 8) (Period 2)

The Grade 8 intensive math course is designed to meet the needs of individual students with curricula tailored by the teacher; taking into account the instructional level of the students.Throughout the course, the selected standards appropriate for developing Grade 8 level skills in three critical areas: (1) formulating, modeling and reasoning about expressions and linear equations, (2) grasping the concept of a function and using functions to describe quantitative relationships; (3) analyzing two- and three-dimensional space and figures using distance, angles and understanding and applying the Pythagorean Theorem.

This course will not be used in place of a core mathematics course but is intended to provide intervention for students who require extra mathematics instruction.
