Attach all drafts (dirty/marked) copies to the back of the packet. Your typed essay needs to be first in your packet. By 'packet,' I mean the following in this order from top to back.

-typed essay
-essay draft(s)
-planning sheet
-sources (highlighted and with marginal notes)

For your typed copy:
- use font 12
-double space it
-font style: Times New Roman
- indent each paragraph
- citations: 1 in the Intro., 2 per each body paragraph; 1 in your Conclusion (at least one of the 6 in the body paragraphs must be from a direct quote).
- don't forget your transition sentences (to be used as your first sentence in B2 and B3)
-don't forget your transitional words/phrases (to be used 'within' paragraphs)
- use your Citations sheet as reference
-don't forget the Power of Words - use effective, high functioning words
- use different types of sentences (DC, IC. Phrase, IC. IC, FANBOYS IC. etc.)
- reread it out loud for flow of ideas
-attend to capitalization of proper nouns (the White House; Sojourner Truth, etc.)

UNDERLINE (do not 'highlight') with a highlighter/colored pencil/pen the following:
hook - pink
thesis (intro and conclusion) - yellow
transitional words/phrases and transition sentences - green
citations - blue

I WILL COLLECT YOUR ESSAY PACKETS AS YOU ENTER MY CLASS; MAKE SURE TO HAVE IT IN YOUR HANDS...IN OTHER WORDS, ALL SHOULD BE READY TO SUBMIT...YOU NEED TO DO ALL HIGHLIGHTING AND STAPLING AT HOME!
